Weekly 'Drop in' Volunteer day, Tuesdays l0am to 4pm Come for all or part of the day. Find a job or task that suits you and your interests, and help the "Friends", in caring for and developing Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park. The park has Local Nature Reserve status and is a great place for both natural history and human history. Mudchute Farm and Froglife are running a FREE evening training session on identifying and surveying for amphibians, as part of Froglife's Dragon Finder project. Advance booking is essential. See this flyer for more details.
Make a Miniature Garden, Saturday 25 to Friday 31 May, 10.30-4pm daily
The loss of urban biodiversity has inspired Mudchute Farm to make London in miniature with fewer roads and far more gardens. The installation will be made up of around 100 wooden wine boxes and planted up as miniature gardens by local schools and volunteers. Part of the Chelsea Fringe alternative garden festival.

Open Day at Cable Street Community Garden, Sunday 9 June 10am-5pm
Come and look around this well-established community garden in Shadwell, with over 50 plots, tended individually by members and their families. There are wildlife areas, several small ponds, a traditional British hedgerow, a sensory
garden under development and, most recently, a small greenhouse. On the day, there will be guided garden walks, a local history talk & walk at 2pm, light refreshments, homemade produce, craft stalls, plants for sale from 11am, and
children’s activities. Part of the Open Garden Squares Weekend, but entry is free for local people. See the Garden's website for how to get there.
Crafty Saturdays at Stepney City Farm
These rural arts workshops are one of London’s best-kept secrets, and are FREE all-ages from babies to grandparents. They are held at Stepney City Farm on the first Saturday of every month, 11:00am – 3:00pm. See the farm's website for the full Crafty Saturdays programme. One which might be of particular interest to wildlife lovers is:

Learn how to and make your own wooden flower press. These can then be decorated using etchings.
Stepney City Farm also has a number of Gardening courses coming up in the next 3 months (Mushroom cultivation, Vegetable gardening, Permaculture).
