18 May 2012, East India Dock Basin: 3 Shelducks, 4 Tufted Ducks, 2 Common Terns, 1 singing Reed Warbler, 1 singing Whitethroat (John Archer).

17 May 2012, Poplar: 1 Small Dusty Wave moth in Collins House, Poplar High Street and 1 Collared Dove flew north-west over Newby Place (Nick Tanner).

17 May 2012, Limehouse Basin: 1 drake Pochard, 2 Tufted Ducks (Nick Tanner).

17 May 2012, Mile End station: 2 male House Sparrows (Bob Watts).

16 May 2012, Saffron Avenue Pond: 1 singing Sedge Warbler, 1 Grey Wagtail, the

pair of Coots still have 3 well-grown young (John Archer).

15 May 2012, Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park: 1 singing Goldcrest in Sanctuary Wood - unusual here this late in the spring (Bob Watts).

15 May 2012, multiple sites: a Red Kite flew west over East India Dock Basin at 10.35am (Gary James) and was then seen over Canary Wharf at 10.40 (John Archer) and the Tower of London at 10.50 (Paul Whiteman).

14 May 2012, East India Dock Basin: 9 Shelducks, 8 Tufted Ducks, 1 Blackcap (John Archer).

13 May 2012, East India Dock Basin/Bow Creek: 11 Shelducks, 1 Common Sandpiper, a pair of Stock Doves on Leamouth Peninsula, 3 Snad Martins, 3 singing Reed Warblers, 5 Whitethroats, a pair of Linnets (Nick Tanner).

12 May 2012, Newby Place, Poplar: a Ring-necked Parakeet flew north (the first local record) and a Common Tern flew east (Nick Tanner).

12 May 2012, Lea Navigation at Bromley-by-Bow: 1 Sedge Warbler, 1 Garden Warbler, 3 Reedarblers, 1 Ring-necked Parakeet (Stuart Fisher).

11 May 2012, East India Dock Basin: 3 Shelducks, 5 Common Terns, 33 Tufted Ducks, 2 Sand Martins, 1 singing Blackcap (John Archer).

11 May 2012, Thames Road Industrial Estate, Limehouse: 1 Lesser Whitethroat singing (Stuart Fisher).

11 May 2012, Millwall Docks: 1 Swift, 1 Swallow, 1 Common Tern, 5 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Mute Swan, 2 pairs of Coots on nests and a 3rd pair nest-building, 1 singing Blackcap (John Archer).

10 May 2012, East India Dock Basin: 4 Shelducks, 27 Tufted Ducks, 3 Common Terns, 2 pairs of Sand Martins, 1 female Blackcap, 1 singing Reed Warbler, 2 Canada Geese (John Archer).

9 May 2012, Blackwall Basin: 6 Common Terns, about 10 Tufted Ducks (John Archer).

9 May 2012, East India Dock Basin: 2 Shelducks, 27 Tufted Ducks (including the male with a Portuguese nasal saddle), 1 Common Tern, 1 singing Blackcap, 1 singing Reed Warbler (John Archer).

9 May 2012, Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park: 1 singing Willow Warbler, 1 singing Blackcap (John Archer).

8 May 2012, East India Dock Basin: 4 Shelducks, 27 Tufted Ducks, 1 Common Tern, 1 Swift, 1 singing Blackcap, 1 female Whitethroat, 1 Garden Warbler, 1 singing Reed Warbler (John Archer).

5 May 2012, East India Dock Basin/Bow Creek: 6 Swifts and 4 Swallows flew north, 3 Shelducks, 1 Kestrel, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Common Tern, 5 Sand Martins, 6 Blackcaps, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 1 Whitethroat (Gary James & Nick Tanner).

4 May 2012, Isle of Dogs: 1 Swift, 2 Whitethroats, 7+ Blackcaps, 2 Chiffchaffs, 3 Mistle Thrushes, 3 Long-tailed Tits, 2 Greylag Geese (Richard Harrison). Lots of Smooth Newts in the wildlife pond at Mudchute (John Archer).

4 May 2012, East India Dock Basin: 1 Yellow Wagtail flew east early morning, 1 Sand Martin, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 4+ Whitethroats, 7 Blackcaps, 2 Reed Warblers, 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Shelduck, 23 Tufted Ducks, 2 Common Terns, 2 Linnets, 3 House Sparrows (John Archer).

3 May 2012, East India Dock Basin: 4 Shelducks, 36 Tufted Ducks, 5 Common Terns, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Whitethroats, 3 Blackcaps, 1 Willow Warbler, 3 Linnets, 1 Jay (John Archer).

3 May 2012, Millwall Park: 6 Ring-necked Parakeets flew south, several Monk Parakeets, 1 Swallow flew south, 1 Sparrowhawk, a family group of Mistle Thrushes, a family group of Long-tailed Tits, 1 singing Blackcap (plus another 3 singing from Mudchute), about 15 Goldfinches, about 8 House Sparrows, 1 Chiffchaff singing from Mudchute (John Archer).

2 May 2012, East India Dock Basin: 1 singing Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Shelducks, 28 Tufted Ducks, 2 Common Terns, 2+ singing Blackcaps, 2 Canada Geese (John Archer).
