Join the Big Garden Birdwatch on 28/29 January
The UK's biggest birdwatching event, the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch, takes place this year on the weekend of 28th and 29th January. Bird lovers all over the country will spend one hour over the weekend counting the birds in their gardens and send the results to the RSPB.
The event has been running for over 30 years, and helps to monitor trends in the populations of Britain's common birds. Over 600,000 people took part last year, counting more than 10 million birds.
So why not join in this year? If you don't have a garden, you can count birds in your local park instead. For details of how to take part, see the RSPB's website.
