Greening the Glamis Estate
The event was a great success. About 50 people came along to help, which was a great turnout considering the freezing cold weather on the day! Mayor of Tower Hamlets Lutfur Rahman visited and helped plant trees (see photo above). Together they planted ten trees, a hedge of 225 native whips, and a mixture of perennials and herbs in the new beds around the estate. Everyone enjoyed a performance from one of the estate residents as Elvis (see below), and some delicious cakes brought along by the Glamis Adventure Playground staff to raise money for the Playground.
