Come and make a nest box at a free workshop
Natural nest sites for birds such as holes in trees or old buildings are disappearing fast as gardens are tidied up and old houses are repaired. NNBW is organised by the British Trust for Ornithology.
To celebrate NNBW, Tower Hamlets Council has teamed up with Veolia to host free workshops to make a nest box for our feathered friends. The workshops are being held on Thursday, February 19 at Southern Grove Community Centre, Yatton House, Southern Grove E3 3DB at 11.30am and 12.30pm.
The council’s Biodiversity Officer will be on hand to give a short talk about nesting birds and where the boxes should be placed.
Spaces are limited, so booking is essential. To book a place on the workshop please contact the Cleaner, Greener Volunteering team via email or call 020 7364 3757.
Children aged seven and over are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult and are restricted to two children per adult. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
