New garden in St George's Estate

Jim Fitzpatrick MP for Poplar and Limehouse attended the community planting event in St Georges Estate, which was organized for EastendHomes by urban tree planting charity, Trees for Cities. Cherry, hornbeam and birch trees were planted, along with a small grove of hazel. The birches were planted by a group of corporate volunteers from Investec on Thursday 19 March. The hazel grove will be underplanted with spring bulbs later in the year.

To keep families and volunteers entertained on the day, there was live music from local musician Tommy Hare, arts and crafts, face painting and a hot lunch served up by a local café. You can find out more about the garden on Trees for Cities' website.
