Good news! We’ve been shortlisted for the Grassroots Giving Fund by the Skipton Building Society! Will you please give us your vote to help keep our group going?
In order to fairly allocate the funds, the Skipton Building Society asks the public to decide who they would like to receive the funding. The shortlisted applicants, including the Lower Regents Coalition, are profiled on the Skipton’s website, Twitter and Facebook, as well as in the local media, to help raise awareness of the work that we do, and to encourage people to use their vote. It’s a quick, simple click of the button to vote.
Groups are listed under their geographical region – we are number 14 in the London area. Click on us, read our story then please vote by clicking the “vote now” button on the page. People can also cast their vote in their nearest Skipton Building Society branch if they prefer. The groups with the most votes will each get £500 to help keep the projects going. Voting ends 13th October, so please get voting! Thanks for your support.
The only other thing to mention is that our summer canoe litter picks are now finished for another year, but fear not, we are moving to our Sunday winter slots, the last Sunday of each month with the exception of December. So please get these dates in your diaries: 29 October, 26 November, 28 January, 25 February, 25 March. Timings will be 11 am until 1 pm. Meet at Moo Canoes Headquarters which is under the DLR Bridge at Limehouse Basin. You can take a canoe or kayak and clear up floating litter on the canal. All safety equipment will be provided, just wear suitable clothing. If you don’t fancy paddling, come and litter pick along the tow path. Don’t worry about being a little late, turn up when you can.
