Lower Regents Coalition 2016

Dave Bedford and Molly Gadenz of the Lower Regent’s Coalition write:

So another year draws to a close and we wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a peaceful new year. A massive thanks to all of you who came out and helped this year, we could not do what we do without you all. You achieved a lot including:

Preparing site for meadow planting
Preparing the meadow site

Over 400 bags of rubbish removed – 250 volunteers got involved, doing 1250 hours work – 12 metres of reed beds planted – 725 square feet of graffiti removed – 265 square metres of meadow prepared, including removal of 30 tonnes of soil – 23 floating planters maintained – 190 square metres of wildflower meadow planted.

And we also need to thank – Thames 21, Erica at Ragged School Museum, Moo Canoes, Ken at Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, Valero, BNP Paribas, Veolia, Canal + Rivers Trust, Elaine Crush  at Tower Hill Trust and John Archer at Tower Hamlets.

We will be back out on the Canal in January, more meadows to prepare and sow, and as ever more rubbish to collect. Hope to see you in the new year.

One last thing, we need a Graphic Designer or someone who is good at layout etc for some posters and flyers, is there anyone with a few hours spare to prepare such things? Please e-mail us if you could help.

That’s it for now
All the best
